The city’s exceptional preservation offers a vivid glimpse into women’s daily lives and roles in Roman society. Frescoes\, portraits\, graffiti\, inscriptions\, and personal objects reveal the presence of women across all social classes—matrons\, freedwomen\, slaves—and all life stages\, from birth to death. They were daughters\, wives\, concubines\, and mothers\, playing essential roles in both family and community life. \nThis rich and complex world is explored in the exhibition “Being a Woman in Ancient Pompeii\,” at the Palestra Grande from 16 April 2025 to 31 January 2026.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][nectar_btn size=”large” open_new_tab=”true” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Accent-Color” solid_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”MORE INFORMATION” url=”https://pompeiisites.org/en/exhibitions/being-a-woman-in-ancient-pompeii/”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

So-called classical art and its constant metamorphosis are at the heart of this dual exhibition\, which\, though divided into two distinct spaces\, is conceived within a unified project guided by the same underlying ideas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” flex_gap_desktop=”10px” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][nectar_btn size=”large” open_new_tab=”true” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Accent-Color” solid_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”MORE INFORMATION” url=”https://capodimonte.cultura.gov.it/mostra/nicola-samori-classical-collapse/”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

This selection of around twenty works includes loans from private collections and unpublished works created specifically for Capodimonte\, in particular Rocco (2025) – a work chosen as the guiding image of the exhibition and which opens the exhibition itinerary\, inserted in the evocative Pompeian Salottino. \nAdmission to Metamorphosis is included within the regular Capodimonte entrance ticket and can be visited until April 26 2026.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” flex_gap_desktop=”10px” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][nectar_btn size=”large” open_new_tab=”true” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Accent-Color” solid_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”MORE INFORMATION” url=”https://capodimonte.cultura.gov.it/mostra/metamorfosi-di-bertozzi-casoni/”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
